Cambodia’s insurance industry experienced a notable increase in gross premiums for December, with a 9.4% year-on-year (YoY) growth, reaching $33.6 million, according to data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia. This marked a significant rise compared to the previous month’s $25.6 million.
The life insurance sector saw a 6.7% YoY growth, totaling $20.3 million. Additionally, the number of life insurance policies surged by 326%, reaching 307,592.
In the general insurance sector, premiums rose by 13.8% YoY to $13.3 million. However, the number of policies dropped by 31.3% YoY, with 16,845 policies issued during the period.
