In the financial year 2024-25, more than 13 million people have been insured through India’s government e-marketplace. The platform facilitated a range of insurance policies, including health, life, and personal accident coverage.
Insurance Services: A Step Toward Greater Efficiency
Launched in January 2022, the insurance services category on the government e-marketplace aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness in obtaining insurance policies. The platform ensures that only providers approved by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) are listed, guaranteeing reliability and trust in the service.
Direct Transactions Benefit Government Organizations
The e-marketplace allows direct transactions between government buyers and insurance providers, eliminating intermediaries. This approach not only speeds up the process but also reduces premiums, leading to cost savings for government organizations procuring group Mediclaim, personal accident, and term insurance policies for their employees.
A Wide Range of Insurance Covers Available
In addition to life and health insurance, the platform now offers a diverse array of insurance products. These include asset insurance, transit and marine insurance, liability insurance, livestock insurance, motor insurance, crop insurance, and cyber insurance. The broad spectrum of coverage meets various needs, all through a transparent and efficient platform.
