Zurich Insurance Asia Pacific has announced the appointment of Theo Pitsikas as the new Head of SME for the region, effective June 16. In this position, he will report to Sean Walker, the head of Commercial Insurance and Chief Technical Officer for APAC. Pitsikas will relocate from Sydney to Singapore to take on the role.
Experienced Leadership in SME Growth
Pitsikas brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the Head of SME for Zurich Financial Services Australia. Over the past eight years, he successfully led the growth of Zurich’s SME portfolio in both Australia and New Zealand. His leadership will now extend to shaping Zurich’s SME strategy across the entire Asia Pacific region.
Focus on Expanding Zurich’s SME Presence
As Head of SME in APAC, Pitsikas will play a crucial role in expanding Zurich’s presence in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector. His key priorities will include developing tailored modular insurance solutions for Micro SMEs and trades, improving underwriting practices, and advancing digital platform features to enhance customer experience.
Collaboration with Local Business Units
Pitsikas will collaborate closely with Zurich’s local business units across the region to ensure that products and services meet the specific needs of different markets and channels. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen Zurich’s position in the dynamic and rapidly growing SME market in APAC.
