Future Generali India Insurance has introduced a new health insurance plan, “Health Unlimited,” in response to growing concerns over medical costs. The insurer’s survey reveals that over 80% of individuals are unsure whether their current health insurance is adequate.
Rising Medical Costs Prompt New Insurance Offering
Amidst increasing medical costs in India, Future Generali has launched a new health insurance plan called “Health Unlimited.” The plan aims to address concerns over rising medical expenses, which have caused uncertainty among many individuals about the adequacy of their existing coverage.
Uncertainty About Existing Coverage
A recent survey conducted by Future Generali, which included 800 insured individuals aged 25 and above, found that more than 80% of respondents were unsure if their current health insurance could meet their future needs. Medical inflation in India, which reached around 14% in 2021, is higher than that of other countries like China (12%), Indonesia (10%), Vietnam (10%), and the Philippines (9%).
New Plan Offers Comprehensive Coverage
The new “Health Unlimited” plan offers unlimited restoration of the sum insured, starting from the second claim. It includes a broad range of coverage such as in-patient hospitalisation, day-care treatments, AYUSH treatments (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy), pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses, organ donor costs, and modern treatment methods. Anup Rau, Managing Director and CEO of Future Generali India Insurance, emphasized that the growing cost of medical treatment remains a concern for many, even for those with existing insurance plans.
The new plan reflects Future Generali’s response to the increasing financial burden that rising medical costs place on individuals, ensuring more comprehensive health coverage for their policyholders.
