Prudential plc has appointed Naveen Tahilyani as its new Regional CEO for India, Africa, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. He will also take charge of the company’s Health segment.
Tahilyani will begin his new role on 29 July and will be based in India. He will join Prudential’s Group Executive Committee and report directly to CEO Anil Wadhwani. This move follows the departure of Solmaz Altin, who is returning to Europe.
A Leader with Strong Industry Experience
Before joining Prudential, Tahilyani was Managing Director and CEO of Tata Digital. He also served as CEO of Tata AIA Life Insurance for over seven years across two terms. Additionally, he led AIA’s Group Partnership Distribution business in Asia and spent 17 years at McKinsey advising financial institutions.
New CEO for Eastspring Investments
In a separate leadership change, Prudential has also appointed Rajeev Mittal as CEO of Eastspring Investments, its asset management arm. Mittal will take on the role starting 1 July and will be based in Singapore. He will report to Wadhwani and become a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Mittal succeeds Bill Maldonado, who is retiring and returning to the UK. Maldonado will stay on as an advisor until the end of September and will remain a board member of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited.
Extensive Asset Management Background
Mittal brings more than 30 years of experience in asset management across Asia and Europe. He was most recently Managing Director and Head of Asia at Fidelity International. He also held senior roles at AIG and PineBridge Investments, including CEO positions in both Europe and Asia Pacific.
