AXA Hong Kong and Macau has announced plans to re-domicile AXA China Region Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (ACRIB) from Bermuda to Hong Kong. The move will take place under Hong Kong’s new company re-domiciliation regime, pending regulatory approval.
According to AXA, the shift will not impact ACRIB’s legal status, organizational structure, or daily operations. All existing rights and responsibilities of policyholders, distributors, and business partners will remain unchanged. Current agreements will continue to be valid.
Once the process is complete, ACRIB will be renamed AXA China Region Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Limited.
AXA is set to become one of the first insurance firms to re-domicile under Hong Kong’s new framework. The company said the move aligns its legal registration with its longstanding business presence in the city and will help streamline operations while ensuring continuity of service.
“This move is not merely administrative; it is a significant step forward in deepening our roots in Hong Kong and simplifying our reporting and compliance processes,” said Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Greater China.
“I firmly believe it will provide strategic advantages that position us for long-term success in one of the world’s most vibrant markets,” she added.
