The Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC) held a dissemination seminar on the “Regulation on Insurance” in Banteay Meanchey Province, presided over by IRC Director General H.E. Bou Chanphirou. The event was attended by provincial officials, institutions, and university students, and aimed to raise awareness about the insurance industry’s role in Cambodia’s economic development and employment opportunities.
During the seminar, H.E. Chanphirou outlined Cambodia’s strategic plan for insurance sector growth and emphasized the IRC’s regulatory role.
Separately, the IRC released its April 2025 insurance market report, showing a 6.58% year-over-year increase in gross premiums, from $25.6 million in April 2024 to $27.3 million in April 2025.
General insurance premiums rose 2.07%, from $10.7M to $10.9M.
General insurance policy count surged 199.47%, from 22,385 to 67,036.
Health insurance was the key growth driver.
