Singlife has introduced a new benefit that provides financial protection for travelers injured during in-flight turbulence. The insurer will now offer a lump-sum payout of up to $780 (S$1,000) for turbulence-related injuries as part of its travel insurance plans.
This benefit is included at no extra cost across all three tiers of Singlife’s travel plans—Travel Lite, Travel Plus, and Travel Prestige.
Depending on the plan, travelers who suffer injuries from turbulence during a flight will receive a fixed hospital income payout of either $390 (S$500) or $780 (S$1,000).
Those with the top-tier Travel Prestige plan will also benefit from additional coverage, including for ICU admissions overseas, offering added peace of mind for more serious medical emergencies.
Singlife’s move reflects a growing awareness of turbulence risks amid increased air travel, and aims to give travelers more confidence and financial protection during their journeys.
