AIA Insurance proudly celebrates the 30th anniversary of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the AIA Poson Safety Programme. Since 1993, this vital programme has safeguarded pilgrims during Sri Lanka’s Poson season, promoting public safety across the North Central Province.
In 2025, the programme will once again be active in Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, Mihintale, and surrounding areas, deploying over 500 trained lifeguards at 39 lakes and reservoirs. Positioned at key bathing sites, these lifeguards ensure the safety of thousands of devotees during this sacred period.
Chathuri Munaweera, Director and CEO of AIA Insurance Lanka, reflected on the programme’s enduring legacy:
