Acenda and EQ Pathology Team Up to Speed Up Life Insurance Medical Checks

by Celia

Acenda has joined forces with EQ Pathology to let doctors submit medical information through smart digital questionnaires instead of old-fashioned PDF forms.

This new system ensures clear, complete data for insurers and advisers. It also creates a smoother process for doctors and reduces waiting times for customers.

Often, insurance applications need extra medical details to finish processing. Currently, these requests require manual handling, which can cause delays for advisers and clients. The automated process removes these bottlenecks and speeds up decisions.

Gerard Kerr, Acenda’s Chief Executive of Individual Business, said Acenda is the first Australian life insurer to offer this digital solution.

“This industry-first move shows our commitment to innovation and putting customers first,” Kerr said. “We want to make it faster and easier for Australians to get life insurance.”

He added that this change will help underwriters get the exact information they need from the start, cutting out delays caused by back-and-forth requests.

Doctors will no longer need to download or print PDFs, which means advisers can deliver quicker decisions while still protecting privacy.

Stephen Clarkson, CEO of EQ Pathology, said, “This partnership proves how technology can solve real problems and make life insurance applications easier for everyone involved — clients, advisers, and doctors.”
